A-SIS Escape Game

An Escape / Serious Game for the society A-SIS

Category : Escape Game / Serious Game

Role : Game Designer

Duration : 6 weeks

Presentation :

As part of my training, I had the opportunity to create a team escape game for the company A-SIS based in Saint-Etienne.

The goal of this escape game is to show the functioning of the company to the new employees by staging tasks that the new employee may have to do.

The escape game is composed of six different riddles/tests that give a keyword each time:

  •   "Pre-sales" which is designed to show the player how contracts are designed.

  •   "Functional Analysis" which introduces the company's planning system and user cases.

  •   "Production" is a puzzle where the player has to understand how a file works thanks to the user cases seen in the previous puzzle.

  •   "Recipe and presentation" which aims to show the role of consultant and the stakes around the customer recipe.

  •   "Customer training" which is a riddle that aims to present the Ascentline training platform and its use.

  •   "Launch" which has no pedagogical purpose but serves as a validation and conclusion to the experience.

In the (entirely fictitious) scenario of the experiment, the player's mission is to find the documents of an old company project and to understand what went wrong with this project. The goal is to correct these problems in order to present the project at an inter-company competition.

There are several variants of the scenario with different explanations for the failure of the project. These variants also influence the game directly by modifying certain puzzles.

My work as a game designer:

On this project, in addition to the general design discussions, I mainly worked on the design of puzzle 5: “Customer training”.

The purpose of this puzzle is to show the new employee the Ascentline training platform used in the company.

For this puzzle, the player takes on the role of a customer relationship manager who aims to respond to a customer who cannot connect to said platform.

To do this, he will have to navigate through a fake mailbox in order to find what the customer is asking him for.

There is also a variant, shown in red, where credentials do not work, and the player must perform additional steps.

Once the identifiers have been acquired, the player connects and must then answer the client's questions by putting back in order the information he has at his disposal.

Once the player has correctly answered the requirements of the client, he obtains the last keyword.
